What is movement coaching

Movement coaching is a type of coaching that focuses on improving an individual's physical movements, posture, and overall body awareness. It is often used in sports performance training, rehabilitation, and general fitness programs.

Movement coaches assess their clients' movements, identify any weaknesses or imbalances, and develop personalized training programs to help them improve their movement patterns, reduce the risk of injury, and enhance their athletic performance. Movement coaching may involve various techniques such as mobility exercises, strength training, and skill development drills to help clients achieve their movement goals. It may also involve a focus on proper breathing, alignment, and body mechanics to help individuals move more efficiently and effectively.

How does it fit with corrective exercise

Corrective exercise is a type of exercise that aims to identify and address any imbalances or dysfunctions in an individual's movement patterns. These imbalances may be caused by a variety of factors such as poor posture, injury, or muscle weakness, and they can lead to pain or limited range of motion.

After the identification of the imbalances the focus then shifts to addressing those imbalances that are most relevant to the client and their personal goals.
