Simple hydration
Lemon and Saltwater Hydration
We all know staying hydrated is important. Many people don’t understand how hydration actually works and why it matters.
Let’s keep this quick and simple. Water as a molecule itself doesn’t attach itself to your cells very well. It needs a variety of ways to grab on and pull itself into the cell.
When you have things like potassium, sodium, magnesium and calcium (electrolytes), to name a few, available for use in your system, water can use these other molecules and get into the cell much more efficiently.
One way to help the body hydrate is to start each morning with an 8 oz glass of room temp or warm water with a pinch of salt and a squeeze of a ¼ lemon.
Don’t over think it:
Use salt you already have
Try it even if you don’t have a lemon today
Drink the whole glass all at once
Don’t worry about how it tastes, its only going to take 30 seconds
Pay attention to how you feel when you start your day hydrated vs being behind all day.
Reduce decision fatigue and do it every morning or when you first get up. #consistency
I drink mine while my coffee is brewing.
Let me know how it goes!
