Ever notice how much easier it is to stay consistent when you’re not doing it alone? Working out is beneficial, but working out with others can be even better! Here’s why teaming up with a friend or joining a small group could be just what you need to take your fitness game to the next level.
Accountability & Motivation
One of the best parts of group workouts is the sense of accountability. When you’re sweating it out with friends or family, there’s a shared sense of commitment and mutual effort. This isn’t just about getting in shape; it’s about building healthy habits that last. When you know someone’s expecting you, it’s easier to stick to your goals and show up – even on the tough days.
In our semi-private sessions and small group classes, you’ll find people from all walks of life, working towards a common goal of health and longevity. Everyone’s there for their own reasons, but the shared energy helps to keep each person inspired and motivated.
Social Connection & Variety
Working out with others doesn’t just benefit your body; it’s a chance to build social connections too. Many of our members work from home, are retired, or have hectic travel schedules, so group classes add a layer of social interaction that can otherwise be hard to find. Plus, you never know who you might run into – each class brings new faces, which keeps things interesting!
We are meant to do life together… community is key!
Group fitness also offers a variety of perspectives. You’ll meet people who have “been there” and can cheer you on, and others who are just beginning their journey. Everyone brings something unique to the table, which makes each workout fresh and engaging.
Guidance & Safety for All Levels
Small group strength classes and semi-private sessions are ideal for beginners or those with a history of injury, providing a safe space to learn and grow. Working with a coach and in a small group ensures you’re making modifications when needed and learning proper form, so you’re less likely to injure yourself.
We keep our classes small – semi-private sessions have no more than 3 people, and our small group classes cap at 7 – so everyone gets individual attention while still experiencing the benefits of a group setting.
Mental & Emotional Benefits
It’s not just about physical fitness; working out with others can also improve mental health. Research shows that exercising in a group setting has a significant effect on reducing stress, boosting mood, and even helping with symptoms of depression. Having a workout buddy or group creates a support system that can reduce feelings of loneliness and isolation – something that’s all too common in today’s busy, remote-working world.
The sense of community, combined with the endorphins from exercise, can make a big difference in your mental well-being. When you’re part of a group that shares your goals and values, you feel like you belong, which makes it easier to stay motivated and committed to your health journey.
The Social Identity Boost
Sharing an identity with others working toward similar goals – whether it’s health, fitness, or general well-being – is a powerful motivator. People in group settings often report more happiness, better overall satisfaction, and a deeper sense of fulfillment compared to those working out solo. Social support is a significant factor in staying consistent, and group workouts provide the positive reinforcement you need to keep going strong.
Conclusion: It’s More Than Just a Workout
At our gym, we’re here to help you find the support, motivation, and sense of community that can make all the difference. Whether you prefer working out with your partner, a friend, or a small group, there’s something powerful about sharing the experience and pushing each other towards better health.
